Cal Water Completes Generator Installation in Bayshore District

SAN MATEO, Calif. — California Water Service (Cal Water) customers in San Carlos now benefit from increased water system reliability and fire protection, with the installation of a new emergency generator at the utility's station on Highland Avenue. The infrastructure improvement project will ensure that the station continues to run in the event of a power outage, and customers do not experience a water service interruption.

Both before and after the generator was installed, Cal Water conducted an ambient noise level study at the station to ensure that the peacefulness of the neighborhood would be preserved with the addition of the new equipment, according to District Manager Ross Moilan. Going forward, Cal Water will periodically test the generator to confirm it continues to operate as intended.

"We are committed to being a good neighbor and appreciate our neighbors' patience as we worked to complete this project," Moilan said. "This important upgrade will help ensure we can continue to provide a reliable supply of safe, clean water to our community for years to come."

Cal Water serves approximately 53,500 service connections in San Carlos, San Mateo, and South San Francisco and about 2 million people through 480,300 service connections in California. The utility has provided water service in the area since 1931. Additional information may be obtained online at www.calwater.com.
