Cal Water Selects Rob Thompson as Local Manager for Marysville District

MARYSVILLE, Calif. — California Water Service (Cal Water) has selected Robert (Rob) Thompson as the new Local Manager to lead its Marysville District. Thompson started in this role this week. Lee Seidel, who had been the Marysville District Manager since the 1980s, retired at the end of 2016; Rosanna Marino, Cal Water Assistant District Manager in Chico, led the district in the interim.

Thompson began his career with Cal Water in the Water Quality Department at the utility's Customer Support Services office in May 2013. He was promoted to Acting Water Quality Program Manager in June 2014, and became a permanent Water Quality Program Manager in April 2015. Thompson has a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental studies from Sonoma State University and holds Distribution Grade 2, Treatment Grade 2, AWWA Certified Backflow Tester, and Cross-Connection Control Specialist certifications.

"I'm looking forward to serving the residents and businesses of Marysville and providing quality, service, and value to each customer," Thompson said. "Beyond water utility service, Lee blazed a remarkable path in the community, and I intend to get involved and become as dedicated of a community supporter as Lee was."
