California Water Service Begins Main Replacement Project in Rancho Dominguez District

Torrance, Calif.—California Water Service (Cal Water) is beginning a water system improvement project on the Palos Verdes Peninsula to improve water supply reliability and fire protection locally.

Crews will install 2,430 feet of new 6-inch water main from 26974 to 27295 Eastvale Road during the next two months. The work will be performed Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. After construction has been completed, the new water lines will be flushed and water quality testing conducted before individual customer service connections are tied into the new main.

"This water system upgrade is part of our commitment first and foremost to provide our customers with safe and reliable water service, both for everyday and emergency needs," said District Manager Dan Armendariz. "We want to thank residents and motorists in advance for their patience as we complete this important water infrastructure improvement project."

Cal Water serves approximately 308,900 people through 92,000 service connections in its system and another 44,600 people through an operations and maintenance contract with the City of Hawthorne. Company-wide, Cal Water serves 2 million people through 480,300 service connections in California. The utility has provided water service in the area since 1927.
