California Water Service Company Makes Donation to Salvation Army to Replace Stolen Toys

MARYSVILLE, Calif. — Local water provider California Water Service Company (Cal Water) donated $1,000 in Toys 'R Us gift cards today after clothes and toys for 100 families were stolen from the Yuba-Sutter Salvation Army's distribution center in Marysville.

"When we heard that some of our local children would be robbed of their Christmas, we knew we had to do something," Cal Water District Manager Lee Seidel said. "We hope that this donation from our shareholders will help make the holidays a little brighter for those in our community."

"Having organizations like Cal Water spring in to action so quickly after the burglary will really make a difference in helping us provide a Christmas for families in need," said Yuba-Sutter Salvation Army Captain Tom Stambaugh. "These contributions go to show that there is still Christmas spirit; not even thieves can stop Santa."

Cal Water serves about 12,000 people through 3,700 service connections in Marysville. The company has provided water service in the area since 1930. Additional information may be obtained online at
