California Water Service Names James Crawford District Manager for East Los Angeles District
COMMERCE, Calif.— California Water Service (Cal Water) has selected James (Jim) Crawford to serve as the District Manager for the utility's East Los Angeles District. Crawford, who has served as the Interim District Manager since August 16, 2017, has been with Cal Water since 1996 and has extensive hands-on knowledge of water distribution, operations, and treatment systems.
Crawford started his career with Cal Water as a Utility Worker, and has since worked as a Certified Pump Operator, Foreman, Electrical-Maintenance Technician, Superintendent of Distribution, and General Superintendent. Crawford holds Water Treatment Grade Two and Water Distribution Grade Four certifications from the State Water Resources Control Board.
"Jim has dedicated the past 22 years to ensuring that our East Los Angeles District customers get quality, service, and value on a daily basis," said Henry Wind, Director of Field Operations and former head of the East Los Angeles District. "Under his leadership, our East Los Angeles community will be well-served knowing they have a reliable supply of high-quality water and fire protection in emergencies."
Cal Water serves approximately 151,300 people through 26,800 service connections in its system and another 4,200 people through an operations and maintenance contract with the City of Commerce. Company-wide, Cal Water serves 2 million people through 484,900 service connections in California. The utility has provided water service in the area since 1928.
