District Manager Currently on Out-of-State Assignment
SAN MATEO, Calif. — California Water Service (Cal Water) announced today that Mike Utz has been named the Interim District Manager of the utility's Bayshore District. He takes the helm while Ross Moilan is on temporary assignment supporting Cal Water's sister company, Washington Water Service.
Utz has been with Cal Water for 22 years and has extensive hands-on knowledge of water distribution, operations, and treatment systems. He was most recently the district's Assistant District Manager, and this is his second stint as Bayshore's Interim District Manager. Other previous roles include Operations Maintenance Worker, Utility Worker, Certified Pump Operator, Superintendent of Distribution, General Superintendent, and Local Manager. He holds Water Treatment Grade Two and Water Distribution Grade Five certifications from the State Water Resources Control Board.

"I am confident that operations will run seamlessly in my absence, and our customers can expect to continue receiving the same quality, service, and value from Cal Water they expect and deserve."
Cal Water serves approximately 199,200 people through 59,100 service connections in San Carlos, San Mateo, and South San Francisco and about two million people through 486,900 service connections in California.
